Prior to purchasing a new turbocharger, it is extremely important to know why your turbocharger failed before replacing it. Please use the diagnostic troubleshooting matrix, that includes common failure indicators and possible causes, to evaluate and identify the root cause of the failure.

TURBOCHARGER ID TAG
TURBOCHARGER IDENTIFICATION
Turbochargers have a data tag or ID plate, usually located in one of three places:
- The cold side, also known as the compressor housing.
- Around the bearing housing area, which is the center section.
- Under the compressor housing on the seal plate.
Once the tag is found, write down any information you may find or take a picture. Your engine serial number and data ID information are critical for finding the correct replacement.
